LOCATION OF THE PARADISE

Fiji is located in the South Pacific, almost halfway between "Melanesia", which includes New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and "Polynesia", which includes, Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga and the Cook Islands. South of the equator, north of the Tropic of Capricorn, east of Australia and New Zealand and just barely west of the International Dateline.

BEAUTIFUL ISLANDS OF FIJI

Fiji is comprised of 18,375 square km of land. It has approximately 333 islands that are included in its republic but only about 100 are inhabited. Viti Levu (10,389 sq km) and Vanua Levu (5538 sq km) are the two biggest islands. Taveuni and Kadavu are the next biggest but the ones that many feel are the most beautiful.

THE CAPITAL CITY OF FIJI

Suva, the capital city of Fiji is located on the main island Viti Levu, which also hosts the highest mountain, Mt Victoria at 1322m and the vast majority of the country’s population. Viti Levu and the islands in its proximity host the majority of the tourist related activity. Taveuni is noted for its beautiful foliage and often referred to as the "garden island". Kadavu is famous for the exceptional quality and colors associated with its reef diving.
